If you are 18 years of age or older and are changing your name, the Name Act requires you to have your fingerprints taken as part of a criminal record check. Once you have paid for our service, we will provide you with a receipt which you will submit a photocopy of the original receipt with your application. ($25 Federal processing fee is applied)

To acquire Canadian citizenship, you must have permanent resident status, lived in Canada for 3 out of last 5 years, and have passed the language test and tests on your rights, responsibilities, and knowledge of Canada. If you are needing fingerprints for this reason, you MUST provide a letter from IRCC which includes your application number, and address of the immigration office for results to be sent to.

Criminal Record Checks are commonly requested by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for all countries that the applicant has resided for more than 6 months while they are over the age of 18. If you lived in Canada for more than 6 months, you will be asked for fingerprints to complete your criminal record check.
